HAFIL ( AL Amean – School Transportation Project)

 Business background:

 HAFIL Transportation Establishment; part of the Al-Naghi Group; is the largest transportation company in Saudi Arabia. HAFIL has about 6500 buses plus mobile workshops, winches, and ambulance cars, which increase the number of vehicles that HAFIL owns to about 8000 vehicles.

 HAFIL transportation Est. has several operations for their buses during the year where HAFIL buses operate and serve, hence HAFIL needs a tracking system to monitor, and having a wireless communication network with their buses to sure of the safety and maintenance of the buses that served in the following main operation:

 School transport operation 

 School transport operating contract was signed between HAFIL and Ministry of education to provide safety and security transport for schoolgirls in the provinces of Riyadh, Makkah, Qassim and the Eastern Province. The project, which is called “Al-Ameen” (Trustworthy), is aimed at lessening the time that parents spend shuttling their girls to school in a safe and culturally appropriate manner. The service will be expanded to other regions during the course of three years and it will be extended to teachers as well.

  Hajj and Islamic Tourism 

 In the hajj season, HAFIL uses the whole fleet to serve pilgrims during hajj days. HAFIL buses are covering more than 35% of the buses that participate in the Hajj season after its accredited by the General Cars Syndicate to operate during each Hajj season. On the other hand, after hajj, the fleet provides Islamic tourism transportation in the holy cities, Makkah and Almadina. 

 

 

Project Purpose:

In accordance with methodology that HAFIL follow to implement vehicles tracking system. The Purpose of AVL project is to fulfill installation and configuration of AVL devices into all HAFIL buses. Hence software solution becomes an essential task and as the next logical phase of an AVL System. 

The main objective of this project is to obtain a software system for vehicles tracking that allows HAFIL Fleet operation team and supervisory staff to have a better monitoring progress on daily basis for vehicles that operate on a variety of tasks. Moreover, this system will provide HAFIL fleet operation team with the necessary information to support the daily operations and management of the business, and along with meeting the future requirement for HAFIL fleet operation.
